Last day in Canberra

We were so entranced with the new Parliament Building that we decided to go back and see other attractions during the day, as Phyllis had an outing planned later in the day.
We visited the old Parliament which was built as a temporary building to last about 60 years.  It was very attractive, but did not compare to the new building.  We had a tour and I  now know more about Australian politics than I did before I came.  The Portrait Gallery which is new was also a fabulous venue where we  could have spent more time.  All of Canberra is so lovely!.
We met Phyllis and Jim in the late afternoon for one more round of kangaroo searching and other wildlife.  We saw fields of kangaroos and a few emu.  The kangaroos were everywhere and very curious looking at us with such inquisitive little faces.  We had another wonderful bottle of wine al fresco in a park and ended our evening with dinner at a pub.  Wonderful time!
We left for the coast where we are at the moment in a little beach town.  We are going to visit the Hunter Valley for wineries and then over to the Blue Mountains for some hiking.  Our fun continues.
